Booking Terms & Conditions

Minimum size for classified display advertisement is 14 sq. cm. [5 cm (h) x 2.8 cm (w)]. Maximum height for 2 column advertisement is 10 cm and for 3 or more column advertisement it is 6 cm (except for the ABP weekend tabloids wherein it is 8 cm).


To avail of the combination rate facility, the content and size (in case of display) of the advertisement should be the same and all the advertisements will have to be booked together in the same release order / form. The matter for each publication will have to be submitted together.


Astrology related advertorial would appear on page 2 and a minimum of ABP 8 cm (h) x 8.8 cm (w) will have to be consumed.


Minimum size of advertorials (other than astrology) will be 8 cm (h) x 11.8 cm (w) [with maximum size: 15 cm (h) x 11.8 (w)]. "ADVT" will be written at the end of the article.


Photo / Logo / Picture inserted in any advertorial for more than 6 cm (h) x 5.8 cm (w) will attract a premium of 25% on the local cost of the advertorial.


For advertisements with a Box Number, a fixed charge is applicable for the advertisement plus Rs.35.00 will be charged for replies collected from our office counter or Rs.65.00 will be charged for replies to be sent to the advertiser or an additional Rs.600.00 will be charged for forwarding the replies outside India. Box replies for situation vacant Ads in ABP or a combination Ad are to be collected from the office counter only.


For giving photographs in regular classified columns the size would be 2.8 cm (w) x 3.25 (h). For such photographs a fixed charge is applicable.


Premium for tick, screen and spot colour are as follows:- for ABP - tick 15%, screen - 25%, colour - 50% (15% premium for Saturday One stop tabloid; 30% premium for astrology) and for TT - colour - 5%; tick - 5%. (Ads may not be in colour in all editions).


Bold headings will be a maximum of 5 lines and a fixed charge will be applicable.


Premium is applicable for fixed positions in certain columns. Premium applicable is as follows:- position - ABP: 1st 100%, 2nd - 75%, 3rd - 50%, 4th - 30%, 5th - 20%, TT: 1st - 50%, 2nd - 40%, 3rd - 30%, 4th - 25%, 5th - 15%.


The rest of the Ads will be scheduled on a "First Booked First Scheduled" basis.


Advertisements published in TT main section on Sunday will attract premium of 300% (except death).


Advertisement under death column will be accepted subject to the submission of a copy of the death certificate / Crematorium Receipt. Advertisements from any organizations / institutions must be submitted on the letter head of the institution.


Advertisements under "Missing Column" will be accepted subject to the submission of a copy of the FIR (First Information Report) filed at the concerned police station.


Advertisements under "Medical Column" must have the approval of the West Bengal Board.


Even under personal column, organizations / institutions will be charged commercial rates.


In case of any rate revision, revised rates will be applicable with immediate effect.


Height of Logo may be up either 1cm or 2cm for which a fixed charged is applicable.


To avail the Slab Rates, bookings will have to be sent vide a single RO. A maximum leeway of three insertions will be given, failing which the future releases will start at the first slab.


Slab rates will not be applicable for Star Hotels and Herbal Massage Parlour.


Slab rate will be applicable on reducing slab basis except for IT Bazar, IT World, Electrical World, Health Plus.


The size of classified display Ads in slabs must be of the same size.


In case of combination Ads, cancellation will be permitted only within the deadline for canceling the first Ad. Deadline for canceling any Ad on weekdays is 12 Noon on the day prior to publication. Fir Ads to be published on a Sunday, cancellation deadline is Wednesday, 5PM.


If there is intermediate rate change, New rates as per the prevalent slabs will be applicable.


Left / Centre / Right align lines will be allowed only for Tender, Notice, Marriage Anniversary, Birth and Death categories.


The rates for The Telegraph (unless specified) are for the Telegraph Calcutta Edition (CE) only. Tender Ads in The Telegraph will be for full circulation.


Anandabazar Patrika (main) plus The Telegraph (main) - 10% discount (rounded off to the nearest rupee) (except ABP and TT break up rates specifically mentioned in the rate card).


CITY SPLITS - All ABP Splits are on Saturday and all TT Splits are on Friday.


To avail of the slab discounts, all multiple insertions have to be in single release order.


Front ABP back pages will be offered colour rates only.


No particular position or page is guaranteed unless premium is paid for the same.


Material deadlines for all splits are Tuesday (4PM) except TT Howrah and TT Saltlake, material of which can be given on Wednesday (4PM).


Cancellations / rescheduling will not be allowed after the release of first cut dummy.


You need to send a material instruction for repeat of material.


Bills will automatically be raised by the system on the basis of the release order in case the cancellation and / or the material is not received within the scheduled time.
